From Eve

Programs Ideas for Zion Piecemakers

Woven Quilts, demo and maybe workshop follow-up

Aprons for gifts and fun Mystery project (easy one)

Hunter Star Project Care of your sewing machine, especially computer ones that owners aren’t supposed to oil themselves. What does the service man do when you bring your machine in for an overhaul? Perhaps Ken from Bernina would give a lecture on this topic.

Folded flowers for quilts, pillows or clothing

“Puff Quilts” Demo and or workshop

“Wedge Works” demo for wall hanging or pillow

Quilted sweatshirts, how to insert zippers and plackets, different ways to decorate.

Asian Lily wall hanging, same turn over edges as Mexican Star pattern

Vest, totes, purses, or other clothing with paper pieced inserts

How to do free motion designs thru paper patterns on your home sewing machine. Eve would do this program.

Jelly roll project, perhaps for block of month.

Chenille project by Marjorie Johnson

Block of the Month- Longer projects you work on and get to keep or shorter ones for a couple months that you finish up on your own? Projects that end with a workshop to finish? How many workshops would you like to set up for this next year?

What kind of demo’s or projects would the members like to learn about this year? Do you want to have some quilting tip classes such as mitered corners and borders? How to bind your quilt on your machine by stitch in the ditch method? Would you enjoy more guest speakers from outside of our guild?

As your incoming President for next year, I want to please our membership with programs and lectures that will be informative and “FUN”. The board and I need your feed back on this. If you have any ideas that you would like to have a program on or see addressed, PLEASE don’t be shy, speak up! I will take a survey at the Nov. Meeting, so NO ONE LEAVES without handing ME their survey. We will have something easy for the Jan. meeting as most of us are tired after the Holidays. Please be giving this some thought over this next month.

Thank you and see you all soon,

Evelyn J Greco

Challenge Quilts from Peach Days (Minus One)

From left to right we have pictured The Princess and the Pea, Snow White, The Quilt Police, and The Apple from the Evil Queen. Not pictured was the Ladybug quilt which naughty Lynette refused to display.

Snow White won the popular vote. Congratulations, Eve!

Charity Quilt, etc. Retreat

Why is it that ironing is so much more pleasant when one is quilting?

We had fun at Janey's clubhouse last Saturday quilting away. The first picture is of one of the tops we finished, and in the bottom picture, Carol is working on the other top we finished. Some of the others worked on individual projects as well, and we all had a lovely time, especially with Carol's chocolate birthday cake and donuts. Yum! Hope the rest of her birthday was fun.
