May Show and Tells and some Virginia Olson Trunk Show

Sorry these are so late. Lazy summer? Busy spring? You name it. I got it. These next two are by Virginia Olson, who did an amazing trunk show for us in May. I will be posting the rest of her items in a separate post.

April Show and Tell

This was one of those quilts that make it frustrating to give them away because it turned out so cute. I wanted to steal it for my daughter, who would have just died of happiness over it.
The next three are from a series of Skinnies that is also a class at our local store this year. Sadly, it filled super fast.








Blooming nine patch in green. Fun use of monochromatic approach!

This was a class at the quilt cottage every month last year. Such a cute series.
Another block of the month. Love the reproduction fabrics and the beautiful scalloped edges.

A great pattern for those fabrics you just can't bear to cut up because they are too fabulous.

March Show and Tell

Janey's Poinsetta. Incredible border!
Judith came up with this quilting pattern while experimenting on her new long arm machine, lucky girl!
We did a half-square triangle exchange last year, and Sariah got a lot of Halloween ones, so she put this together from them. Love the zig zag!
Sariah did this as a round robin project from the Ruby's Inn Quilt Retreat in February. I wanted to go to that but missed the sign-up somehow. Looks beautiful!

February Show and Tell 3

This was the first one Ruth had shown at quilt guild. The photo above is the front, and below is the back, which she also pieced.

This is a block of squares Anne threw together for our charity quilting that night.

Deanna made this cute baby quilt. You glue the squares down and then quilt over the top of them. It sews up really fast and is just adorable.

February Show and Tell 2

Sariah did this black and colored one from our half square triangle exchange last fall.

Eve did this one for charity out of leftovers.

This pattern is called a braid, and I just loved all of the orange hues.

Sariah's daughter is on an LDS mission in Detroit and sent her two antique quilts that match. They are hand pieced log cabins. They do not have batting, so we think they were either summer quilts or toppers. I think they might have been Christmas toppers, because I've seen quilts that color before, and the brown is what the green faded to over time. But I have no real expertise on the matter.
